What we repair

Front-loaders, washer-dryers and the iQ range

Most Siemens machines in UAE homes are front-loaders from the iQ300, iQ500 and iQ700 ranges, plus a fair number of washer-dryers in apartments where there's no room for a separate dryer. The parts that wear are much the same across all of them: the drain pump, the door lock, the door seal, the heating element and the suspension.

Newer models with the brushless iQdrive motor rarely have motor problems. Older machines with a brushed motor can lose power on the spin as the carbon brushes wear down, and that's a straightforward part to replace.

If your machine has i-Dos automatic dosing, it's worth knowing that thick or old detergent can block the dosing tank. A machine that suddenly washes poorly, without showing any error, is sometimes just a clogged i-Dos system.

Before you callCheck that the water tap behind the machine is fully open, the plug is in properly, and the door is shut firmly. These three cause more 'it won't start' calls than any fault.
Find the model numberOpen the door and look at the sticker on the rim. The E-Nr. and FD numbers tell us exactly which parts your machine takes.
Error codes

Siemens washing machine error codes we see most

Depending on the model, the display may show these with an E or an F in front, and some show them as E:18 or F18. The meaning is the same.

CodeWhat it meansWhat to try first
F16 / E16Door not closed properlyClose the door firmly until it clicks. Check nothing is caught in the seal.
F17 / E17Water taking too long to come inOpen the tap fully. Check the inlet hose isn't kinked. The small filter where the hose meets the machine may be blocked.
F18 / E18Water not drainingClean the pump filter at the bottom front. Check the drain hose isn't squashed behind the machine.
F21 / E21Drum not turning as expectedMake sure the drum isn't overloaded or jammed by an item between drum and tub. If it persists, it's usually the motor or its control.
F23 / E23Water detected in the base (AquaStop)Switch off and turn off the tap. This means a leak inside the machine. Don't keep resetting it.

Error codes are a starting point, not a diagnosis. The same code can come from different parts, which is why we test before quoting.

How we work

What happens on a washing machine visit

The technician runs a short test programme to see the fault for themselves. They then check the part they suspect, explain what's wrong, and give you a price for the repair. Nothing is replaced until you agree.

Most repairs, like pumps, door locks, seals, heaters and shock absorbers, are done in one visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you how long it will take before we leave. Repairs carry a [[WARRANTY PERIOD]] warranty on the work and the parts we fit.

We visit homes for Siemens washing machine repair in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah. Call or WhatsApp to check the earliest time for your area.

Prevention

Small habits that save a call-out

  • Clean the pump filter every two or three months. Coins, hair clips and lint end up there.
  • Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open after a wash so the seal can dry. It stops mould and smells.
  • Run a hot drum-clean programme once a month, with nothing in the drum.
  • Don't overload. A drum packed tight wears the bearings and still washes badly.
  • Use the right amount of detergent. Too much leaves residue that clogs pipes and the pump.
Questions

Washing machine repair questions

Why does my Siemens washing machine stop with water still in the drum?

Nine times out of ten it is the pump filter. It sits behind the small flap at the bottom front of the machine. Put a towel and a shallow tray down, open the emergency drain hose first to let the water out slowly, then unscrew the filter. If it is clean and the machine still shows a drain error, the drain pump itself or the hose is the next thing to check.

The door is locked and won't open. Can I force it?

Please don't. If there is water in the drum the lock stays on for safety, and forcing the handle usually breaks the hinge or the latch. Drain the water through the pump filter first, then switch off for a few minutes. If the door still won't release, the door lock has probably failed and needs replacing.

My machine shakes and walks across the floor during spin. Is it broken?

Not always. Check that the transit bolts were removed when it was installed and that all four feet are level and locked. A small load, like one heavy bathmat, also makes it unbalanced. If it still bangs with a normal load, the shock absorbers or drum bearings are likely worn.

Is it worth repairing a Siemens washer that's 8 or 9 years old?

Usually, yes, if the drum bearings are fine. Pumps, door locks, heaters and shock absorbers are moderate repairs. Bearings are the expensive one, and on some models the drum has to be replaced as a whole unit. We'll tell you which one it is before you spend anything.

Do you repair Siemens washer-dryers too?

Yes. Washer-dryers have the same washing parts plus a drying fan, heater and condenser. Drying problems on these are often down to lint build-up in the condensing duct, which we clean as part of the repair.
